Locally, Auria Biobank works closely with the University of Turku, Turku University Hospital (TYKS) and the central hospitals of Pori and Vaasa.
Auria Biobank is also networked with other Finnish biobanks.
Finnish biobanks together make up the BBMRI.fi network, whose purpose is to promote and implement collaboration between Finnish biobanks and research projects that collect clinical samples and to link such collaboration with the European biobank network.
BBMRI also serves as a forum for collaboration and discussion between biobank operators, financers, authorities and citizens. Material aimed at citizens can be found at www.biopankki.fi/en.
Internationally, Auria Biobank is part of the European BBMRI (Biobanking and Biomolecular Resources Research Infrastructure) Network. Through the European network, Finland engages in collaboration with the biobanks of other countries and reinforces its position as a notable medical research nation.
