High Quality Data for Researchers

Auria Clinical Informatics is the first European Union Digital Innovation Hub in the health sector in Finland. Our main task is to serve researchers with high quality data. In addition to high quality data, we offer advice on data interpretation and software solutions speeding up scientific research. By working with local clinical experts we ensure data quality and correct interpretation. We serve both basic academic research and industry-sponsored scientific studies.

We support research and scientific innovations. We want to challenge ourselves and the entire healthcare sector to renew itself and innovate. Our purpose

The purpose of the public healthcare system is to offer every citizen the best possible treatment with reasonable costs to society. Advances in medicine enable the application of new, more effective treatments. A wealth of scientifically proven data is required to support optimal treatment choices for each patient. In addition, data-driven management and planning help target the focus of healthcare professionals to the right issues.

Auria Clinical Informatics supports scientific research and data-driven management based on patient records in specialized healthcare. At present, we support research, management, treatment planning and sustainable choices based on local patient records and in the future our coverage extends also national and European records.

Responsible use of patient records requires a culture of trust and a working environment fit for purpose. For this reason, Europe and especially Finland are suitable and appealing locations for research in healthcare and wellbeing.

Our tasks

We offer a top-notch framework for health technology research in which high quality data, medical understanding, modern statistics and mathematical sciences are combined with novel digital solutions. In these services, we strive to be top of our class both nationally and internationally.

We support data-driven research and develop data-driven management in the entire Turku University Hospital network of hospitals. We help the Hospital District of Southwest Finland become the best hospital district in Finland deploying data-driven management practices so that treatment pathways are cost efficient and patient treatments are effective, safe and of high quality.

In addition, we pool patient records from various clinical operative systems in a consolidated data lake. We facilitate utilizing patient records in a secure manner, simplify producing data and analyses for research purposes and develop graphical interfaces for example for tracking treatment effectiveness. We offer a competitive and agile environment which we can use together with academic and industry researchers especially for research and innovations based on health data.
