Auria Biobank has received the consent and approval granted by you.
Consent means that samples or research samples that have been taken from you or which will be taken from you in the future in connection with your treatment can be collected and transferred to the biobank. Approval means that your health data and information concerning factors affecting your health can be linked to the sample. Access to them can be granted for health-related research as provided for in the Biobank Act. Data concerning consent, approval and samples are saved in Auria Biobank’s personal data files, the controller of which is the Wellbeing services county of Southwest Finland (Varha).
If, for some reason, you wish to cancel your consent, you have the right to do so. You can also object to, i.e. refuse, the processing of your samples and data by the biobank at any time. The cancellation and refusal must be submitted in writing using, for example, a form that is available from us or our website, or it can be done electronically on our website.
You also have the right to receive the following information from the biobank:
- whether the biobank has your samples
- the grounds for the samples being stored in the biobank; i.e. whether they were collected based on consent or transferred there previously based on the notification procedure
- the source of the biobank’s data concerning you
- the biobank research for which your samples and data have been assigned
- the information concerning your health that has been obtained from the samples if they have already been studied, and what this information means for your health
