Accessibility statement (auria.fi)

Web accessibility means that all people can use the online or mobile services as easily as possible, regardless of any physical or cognitive limitations. Accessibility essentially means taking equality between people into account when designing and implementing web services.

Web service accessibility is based on the WCAG 2.1 guidelines and criteria . An accessible web service is one that is technically effective and easy to use, and whose contents are understandable.

In April 2019, the Finnish Act on the Provision of Digital Services entered into effect. The act is based on the EU’s accessibility directive, and it requires the public sector to make its web services accessible within the transitional period.

Auria Biobank’s website was launched in 2014. This means that the website must meet the requirements of the EU’s accessibility directive and the WCAG 2.1’s Level AA criteria starting from 23 September 2020..

The accessibility of our services and the equal treatment of citizens are extremely important to us in our Wellbeing services county of Southwest Finland. Some sections of Auria Biobank’s website are not yet in compliance with the accessibility criteria. We are working to improve the accessibility of the technical aspects and contents of the website. We are also providing our staff with training in producing accessible content.
